  • Provide weekly 1-hour online office hours to respond to students' comments and questions.
  • Provide timely feedback and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and exams.
  • Integrate practical engineering and physics applications into the curriculum to demonstrate real-world relevance.
  • Mentor and advise students on their mastery of mathematical methods for professional and academic success.
  • Depending on interest and program needs, this role may involve teaching multiple sections (4-6 per semester) or mentoring/coordinating additional instructors delivering sections of the course.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • An advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in most of the following areas: linear algebra, Laplace transforms, ordinary differential equations, partial differential equations, probability, and statistics.
  • A strong track record of effective teaching or relevant professional experience in higher education.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Background in curriculum development, including designing problem sets and projects that reflect real-world engineering and physics challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective student engagement and collaboration with faculty.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment.

Application Instructions

Please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy (1-2 pages), and contact information for three references. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
