Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

The Department of English at Kennesaw State University is committed to excellent teaching, scholarship, and service to the university and the community. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full-time, non-tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of English in the Department of English with a preferred start date of August 2025. These are nine-month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

A commitment to excellence in teaching and service to the university, department and/or discipline is expected of all non-tenure track faculty.

Responsibilities include at a minimum:

  • Teaching General Education courses in First-Year Composition.
  • Teaching a 5/4 load with university service obligation (90% teaching, 10% service).
  • Teaching via face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities. The preferred modalities for First-Year Composition are face-to-face and hybrid.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • A Master of Arts, or the foreign equivalent, in English or a closely related field.
  • A record of effective college/university teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skill teaching college composition.
  • Preparation to teach via varied modalities.
  • Graduate training in rhetoric and composition.
  • Familiarity with and application of High Impact Practices (HIPs).
  • Experience teaching multimodal writing.

  3. Unofficial Transcripts (Official Transcripts and Official International Course-by-Course Evaluations Due Upon Hire)
  4. Names, phone numbers, and email addresses of at least 3 references
  5. Evidence of teaching excellence. This should include summaries of teaching evaluations as well as items such as sample syllabi or lesson plans (no more than ten pages) (Upload as Additional Documents)
