Job Summary
Teach courses in the discipline area of Political Science. Provide academic support to students, maintain class-related records, and assess student coursework.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaches a typical load of 15 semester-hours of undergraduate courses each semester in Political Science in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats. Provides academic support to students as needed. Maintains class-related records and assesses student coursework. Participates in departmental, college, and university-required activities.
Qualifications
Requires a master's degree, including 18 hours in Political Science or a related field. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level in traditional classroom settings and/or a commitment to student engagement and academic ability to communicate effectively and participate in departmental and university activities.
Preferred
- Education: Earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution.
- Years of experience: 3 or more years of teaching experience.
- Skills: Interactively engaging students to develop enhanced critical thinking.
- Abilities: Communication at all levels.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment within a university setting, providing both in-person and online instruction. Utilizing standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, and email, along with technology-based learning materials and learning management systems. The physical requirements of the job will consist of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time while instructing and/or engaging in meetings.
