The role
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in International Business and Strategy to join the Discipline of Strategy, Marketing and International Business.
This appointment will strengthen the School’s capability to understand and shape how organisations compete, grow and create value in an increasingly interconnected, volatile and technology-enabled global economy.
We welcome applicants with expertise in one or more of international business, business strategy, international strategy, corporate strategy, global value chains, geopolitical risk, internationalisation, innovation, or related areas. The successful candidate will demonstrate the capability to teach international business and/or strategy across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to contribute to high-quality, contemporary curricula that connect rigorous theory with the strategic challenges facing firms, policymakers and society.
The postholder will develop a strong research profile, with the potential to produce high-quality, field-advancing research and contribute to external research funding. They will be expected to engage actively in interdisciplinary research and innovation collaboration across the School and wider University. We are especially interested in candidates who can develop productive collaborations with international academic partners and relevant business or policy stakeholders.
The successful candidate will bring thoughtful, inclusive and practice-informed approaches to teaching and the wider student experience. They will contribute to programme and curriculum development, student employability, academic citizenship, and the mentoring of students and colleagues. Relevant industry, consultancy or policy experience, particularly in strategy-oriented roles within multinational corporations, SMEs, entrepreneurial ventures or international organisations, would be an advantage.
At Senior Lecturer level, the appointee will also be expected to demonstrate a developing record of academic leadership, including leading modules or programme activity, supporting colleagues, building research collaborations and contributing to the School’s wider strategic priorities.
