Lecturer/Practitioner in Physiotherapy

We are looking for a physiotherapist, with a clinical background in neurological physiotherapy to develop and deliver high quality learning and teaching to the Integrated Masters in Physiotherapy programme at Plymouth Marjon University.

You must be a registered physiotherapist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), with a minimum of three years of clinical experience working within the National Health Service (NHS).

You will be joining a team of highly motivated multi-disciplinary professionals, duties will include:

  • Module leadership developing and managing teaching specific modules across all academic years
  • To contribute to the strategic development, operational governance, and delivery of the onsite Marjon Physiotherapy and Wellbeing Clinics.
  • To provide professional mentorship and support to newly qualified registered physiotherapists, facilitating their transition into professional practice.
  • Contributing to all areas of academic practice such as personal development tutoring (PDT), placement development and support, knowledge exchange and/or research activities.

We are excited to launch a new graduate-led Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Clinic with a specialist focus on neurological rehabilitation, and we are looking for a dedicated Lecturer/Practitioner in Physiotherapy to be part of this exciting initiative. While the primary focus of this role lies in academic teaching, module leadership, and curriculum delivery across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, this post also offers a valuable opportunity to provide overarching professional mentorship and strategic operational governance for the clinic.

Because our graduate physiotherapy practitioners are fully qualified and HCPC-registered, they operate autonomously, meaning your clinical involvement focuses on high-level professional development and research capacity building rather than day-to-day clinical supervision.

More than just a learning environment, the clinic will actively serve the local community by providing high-quality, person-centred care at an affordable price.

Where you’ll work:

You’ll be based on our green campus in the north of Plymouth, in Marjon's new Health Hub which provides purpose-built clinic rooms and a high spec working space for faculty staff. This promotes interprofessional discussion and collaborative working.

Our current hybrid working policy means you can work from home or on campus, but you will need to maintain strong campus links and be available onsite when needed.

Application Process:

To apply for the position, please click the 'Apply' button above and provide a supporting statement that demonstrates how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, and experience sections of the job description.
