Contract: Specified Purpose Contract – envisaged up to December 2027
Salary: €69,375 – €106,749 per annum

The Institute of Public Administration (IPA) is seeking a Lecturer / Programme Director in Leadership and Management to join its Whitaker School of Government and Management.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of leadership and management capability across Ireland’s Public Service. The successful candidate will combine teaching with programme direction, academic development, research and engagement with public service organisations.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Teaching across leadership, management development, change management, innovation, design thinking and project management.
- Designing and developing undergraduate, postgraduate and professional learning programmes.
- Coordinating designated programmes, including teaching, assessment and academic administration.
- Supervising postgraduate assignments, dissertations and research projects.
- Contributing to programme development, quality assurance and academic reviews.
- Undertaking relevant research, publication and practitioner scholarship.
- Working with colleagues and public service organisations to ensure programmes respond to evolving sector needs.
About You
Candidates should have:
- A Master’s degree or higher in management, leadership, public administration, business or a related field.
- Relevant lecturing experience within higher education, professional education or adult learning.
- Strong organisational, analytical, written and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with commonly used digital presentation, communication and learning tools.
A PhD or Level 10 qualification, programme development experience, public sector experience, postgraduate supervision and a record of research or publication would be advantageous.
