Lecturer (Research Tutor) (Education & Scholarship)
This new 0.3 FTE post is immediately available until 31 July 2027 on a fixed-term basis. This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.
The role involves acting as Research Tutor in the Doctorate of Clinical Psychology’s Psychoanalytic and Psychotherapeutic Clinical Practice (DPPClinPrac), with responsibility for providing research teaching and supervising trainees in their major research projects, as well as supporting students with aspects of the wider research programme. You will work with the Research Leads and team to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the research programme in line with the Faculty’s education strategy and within the education objectives specific to the Programme. You will be expected to mark academic material and act as an internal examiner, as directed by the Research Director or Programme Lead.
About you: For a Lecturer post, you will possess a depth or breadth of specialist knowledge demonstrated by a Clinical Doctorate or Ph.D. (complete or nearing completion) in an academic area relevant to psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, or clinical research, or have equivalent experience of clinical/NHS research as a researcher at a level to teach and support learning, with a professional qualification as an Allied Health Professional. Evidence of sustained commitment to continuing professional development and practice is required. You should have an in-depth understanding of your specialism to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field, expertise in quantitative research methods and advanced statistical methods, and the ability to use specialist skills in the design, analysis, and evaluation of research. You will use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students, participate in and develop external networks, and have evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review. You will be expected to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and attend formal CPD relating to this.
