We are recruiting for multiple academic roles across Levels B to E (Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor) in the School of Banking and Finance. These roles offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to world-class teaching, research, and engagement in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Develop and maintain a strong individual research program.
  • Actively contribute to the School’s and Faculty’s research culture.
  • Convene and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in finance and banking.
  • Engage in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Participate in School, Faculty, and University service and leadership activities appropriate to their level.

Skills and Experience

For Level B:

  • PhD in Finance or a related discipline (or equivalent).
  • Capacity for high-quality research publications and clear research plans.
  • Demonstrated capacity to teach effectively at tertiary level.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to UNSW’s values and health and safety policies.

For Level C (in addition to Level B):

  • Track record of impactful research and research leadership.
  • Experience supervising HDR students and participating in review panels.
  • Experience in curriculum design and educational innovation.
  • Strong service and engagement contributions.

For Level D (in addition to Level C):

  • Internationally recognised research track record.
  • Leadership in research projects and successful grant applications.
  • Mentoring of early career academics and postdoctoral fellows.
  • Substantial service contributions and industry engagement.

For Level E (in addition to Level D):

  • Sustained leadership and excellence in research and curriculum development.
  • Extensive national and international industry and academic links.
  • Role model for academic mentoring and collaboration.
