Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Computer Science and Software Engineering)

- Base salary range: Level B: $118,150 - $139,812 / Level C: $144,143 – $165,809 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering under the School of Physics, Mathematics and Computing is renowned for its award-winning researchers, teachers and facilities. The broad-based undergraduate and postgraduate programs are complemented by a wide range of research activities and the School is a leader in developing graduates with high level expertise in computer programming and the methods involved in performing complex computations and processing data. About the opportunity
- Deliver high-quality teaching and coordination across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Computer Science and related disciplines, contributing to curriculum development and student learning.
- Build a strong research profile through publications, grant funding and collaborations, while supervising Honours, Masters and PhD students.
- Contribute to the academic community through service to the University and discipline, and make a sustained long-term impact on teaching and research excellence.
About you
- PhD in Computer Science or an academic field relevant to the discipline or other higher professional qualifications appropriate to the discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in the discipline of Mathematics.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles.
Level B, you will:
- Demonstrated ability to deliver teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses.
- A demonstrated track record in excellence in research evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality journals relative to opportunity.
- A demonstrated emerging track record of successful competitive funding application.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision or co-supervision of HDR students, relative to opportunity.
- Participation in education/research leadership in public engagements that promote research and/or education outcome, government and industry.
Level C, you will:
- Demonstrated excellence in the development and delivery of curricula and the use of innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses.
- Experience in the mentoring of junior colleagues, demonstrators and tutors, where relevant.
- A strong track record of excellence in research at a national level evidenced by peer-reviewed journal articles published in high quality journals and conferences.
- A demonstrated track record of success in awarded competitive funding.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision of HDR students, Masters and Honours students.
- Demonstrated experience of leading public engagement activities that promote research and/or education outcomes, government and industry.
