Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - First Year Mathematics Lead

The School of Mathematics and Computational Sciences is seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer - First Year Mathematics Lead to join our team at Massey University's Manawatū campus in Palmerston North.
The purpose of this role is to enhance student learning and qualification outcomes by ensuring consistency and quality in the delivery of first-year mathematics courses. You will provide broad oversight of curriculum, course advice, assessment processes, and course materials, while contributing to teaching and course coordination.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining oversight of curriculum, course advice, assessment processes, and course materials for first-year undergraduate mathematics courses
- Aligning first-year mathematics curriculum development with the New Zealand Secondary Mathematics Curriculum and the needs of service teaching subjects
- Teaching and coordinating first-year undergraduate mathematics courses
- Demonstrating academic citizenship through service, collaboration, professional engagement, and contributions to the wider University community
- Contributing to online teaching and learning, as Massey University is a leading provider of distance education
About you - Mōu
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A PhD in Mathematics or a related field
- Demonstrated teaching expertise, preferably within a university or tertiary education environment
- Experience using electronic and online teaching technologies
- Experience delivering mathematics courses in New Zealand (preferred)
- Knowledge of the New Zealand secondary school curriculum
- Experience working with New Zealand secondary schools (desirable)
