As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Combinatorics / Discrete Mathematics at the University of Melbourne, you'll have the opportunity to develop a high-level research programme in contemporary discrete mathematics. You'll contribute to expanding the school's expertise while teaching and supervising students at all levels. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conduct Innovative Research: Develop and maintain a high-level research program in discrete mathematics, publish in top-quality outlets, and secure external research grants.
- Deliver Excellence in Teaching: Prepare and deliver lectures, develop curriculum, and supervise students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Contribute to Academic Leadership: Participate in school committees, engage in professional activities, and contribute to outreach and promotion efforts.
- Foster Collaboration and Engagement: Develop research links nationally and internationally, and present research to elevate public awareness of scientific developments.
You may be a great fit if you are a qualified woman mathematician with a strong research background in discrete mathematics, demonstrating excellence in both research and teaching, with the ability to secure funding and collaborate across disciplines.
You may also hold a PhD in mathematics or a closely related discipline, have a strong publication record in top-quality, discipline-recognised outlets, possess the ability to attract research funding, demonstrate excellent teaching skills and curriculum development experience, show clear evidence or potential in graduate student supervision, and have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
