How you'll make an impact
As Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Nursing – Rural & Remote Health, you will play a key role in delivering JCU’s distributed nursing program and strengthening health workforce capacity across regional Queensland.
You will:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and learning experiences for nursing students
- Support student recruitment, engagement, progression and success throughout their studies
- Strengthen rural and remote clinical placement pathways and partnerships
- Contribute to interprofessional education and service-learning initiatives
- Lead and/or contribute to research focused on rural and remote health, nursing and workforce development
- Build and maintain strong relationships with health services, schools, community organisations and industry partners
- Mentor students and emerging researchers while contributing to academic leadership within CQCRRH
What you'll bring
You are a committed nursing professional with a passion for rural and remote health and improving health outcomes through education, research and collaboration.
You will bring:
- Current nursing registration
- A doctoral qualification (or substantial progress towards completion)
- Experience in nursing education, ideally within rural and/or remote contexts
- Understanding of rural and remote health workforce challenges and opportunities
- Experience supporting student engagement, recruitment and clinical placement activities
- A growing or established research profile in nursing, education, rural health or workforce development
- Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills

Position details
- Full time: 36.25 hours per week
- Fixed term to 31 December 2026, with the possibility of extension subject to organisational requirements and funding
- Academic Level B: $112,810 – $133,110 + 17% Super
- Academic Level C: $137,166 – $157,485 + 17% Super
