SP Jain London School of Management (SPJL) is an OfS-registered business school that opened in Canary Wharf in October 2023. We are part of the SP Jain Group, with campuses in Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney and California, and are ranked by leading global publications. The colleagues we appoint now will shape our programmes for the next decade.
We are appointing a permanent Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Operations, Supply Chain and Logistics, at either grade depending on experience.
The role
You will teach across our undergraduate and postgraduate portfolio — areas such as operations management, supply chain strategy, logistics, procurement and analytics — lead or contribute to modules, act as a personal tutor, and take programme leadership appropriate to your grade. Our pedagogy is deliberately interactive: Socratic discussion, applied case teaching, experiential and simulation-based learning, and responsible use of AI. We expect colleagues to bring live industry examples and real business decisions into the classroom.
Senior Lecturer appointees will lead an intake or named programme and mentor Lecturer colleagues.
About you — essential
- Master's degree or above in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification with substantial senior experience in the field
- For Senior Lecturer: a PhD, or equivalent recognised professional achievement, and a track record of module, intake or programme leadership
- Evidence of effective, engaging teaching at HE level in operations, supply chain and logistics
- Evidence of research or scholarly activity in the discipline
- Fellowship of Advance HE (FHEA), or commitment to achieving it within 18 months; Senior Lecturer appointees work towards SFHEA within 24 months
- Sound understanding of UK HE quality assurance and the employability agenda
- A commitment to innovative teaching, and the flexibility to adapt to changing programme, cohort and delivery needs
This is a campus-based role at our Canary Wharf campus. Teaching may include evenings, weekends and intensive blocks. The successful candidate should live within commutable distance of London, or be willing to relocate before taking up the post
Desirable
- PhD, or thesis submitted, for Lecturer applicants
- A relevant professional qualification — CIPS, ASCM/APICS or equivalent
- Relevant industry experience
- PGCHE or equivalent; blended and online delivery experience
What we offer
SPJL is a technology-driven, forward-thinking school, and our teaching methodology reflects that: applied case and simulation-based learning, an AI tutor supporting students alongside our faculty, and a commitment to using emerging digital tools effectively. You will join a small, engaged and collaborative team where your contribution is visible, with real career progression as the School grows, a new Canary Wharf campus, a discretionary bonus, and a global academic network.
Salary: Lecturer £45,000 – £50,000; Senior Lecturer £55,000 – £65,000, depending on experience.
Selection
Shortlisted candidates will attend an in-person interview and give a live teaching demonstration, which will be recorded. Reasonable adjustments are available at any stage on request.
