The Opportunity
Join the School of Computer Science and Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in a Teaching and Research role. In this role, you will contribute to the advancement of research and education in modern computing systems, while helping to shape the next generation of computing professionals.
You will conduct research in areas such as operating systems, distributed systems, system security and systems for AI, contributing to high-impact research outcomes and the School’s growing research profile.

About You
You are an emerging or established academic with a strong foundation in modern computing systems, with the ability to contribute to high-quality research and teaching. You bring expertise in areas such as operating systems, distributed systems, system security and systems for AI and demonstrate the potential to build a strong research profile.
At Lecturer level (Level B), you will be developing your research profile and contributing to collaborative research activities, including competitive grant applications and scholarly publications, while also delivering high-quality teaching and supporting student learning across undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
At Senior Lecturer level (Level C), you will demonstrate an established research track record with evidence of research leadership, success in securing competitive funding, supervising HDR students, and making significant independent contributions to your field. You will also contribute to educational leadership through high-quality teaching, curriculum development, and mentoring students and colleagues.
You are an engaging educator with experience in delivering high-quality teaching and contributing to curriculum development. You are collaborative, adaptable, and motivated to contribute to a high-performing academic environment and to build strong relationships across academia and industry.
