Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Veterinary Pathology
About the role - Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
The School of Veterinary Science, Massey University, is seeking applicants for a position in the Pathobiology and Infectious Disease group as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Veterinary Pathology.
The purpose of this position is to prepare and teach subjects relating to anatomical and/or clinical pathology, enhance the learning and qualification outcomes of Massey University’s students and contribute to the scholarly outputs and standing of the University.
This includes undertaking an effective programme of veterinary teaching, supervising postgraduate students and residents, providing diagnostic pathology services, undertaking research and scholarship, and providing administrative and professional service to the University and the broader academic, professional and general communities.
This is a full-time, permanent position based on the Manawatū campus in Palmerston North.
About you - Mōu
The required qualifications are as follows:
- Veterinary professional degree, for example BVSc, DVM or VMD, from an AVMA-accredited school or one recognised by the New Zealand Veterinary Council to enable full registration in New Zealand as a veterinarian
- ACVP, ECVP or FANZCVS board certified or board eligible in either anatomic or clinical pathology
- Advanced research degree, for example a PhD
The essential experience required for this position is as follows:
- Experience in diagnostic anatomic or clinical pathology
- Experience in veterinary teaching and postgraduate training in anatomical or clinical pathology is desirable
- Research experience in veterinary pathology is desirable
- Knowledge of New Zealand animal production systems and disease systems is desirable

The salary for this position will depend on skills and experience but will be in the range of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer ($83,201 - $152,711).
