About the role

We are looking for an innovative person with an enthusiasm for physics to join the Department of Physics as a permanent Lecturer (Teaching). The appointee will perform a variety of teaching and teaching related administrative tasks, including lecturing to undergraduate students at a range of levels, running academic and personal tutorials and problems classes, assisting in supervising students within the teaching laboratories (experimental and/or computing), and running undergraduate final year projects. Whilst it is expected that teaching will be informed by research/professional expertise, there is no research component to this role. Applicants with expertise in any areas of the Department’s taught portfolio are welcome and encouraged to apply.

You need to have a PhD in physics or a closely-related discipline and be able to meet all the essential criteria outlined in the job description. You must also be passionate about teaching and be able to share that passion with others, motivating students and working as part of a team. You must be willing to fulfil teaching-related administrative and coordinate collaborative tasks with other members of academic staff.

This is a full time role (36.5 hours a week) with an expected start date of 01 September 2026.
