- Teach and supervise students at the Undergraduate or Master’s level in areas as allocated by the Disaster Management Program Chair.
Actively engage in scholarly reseach leading to publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals relevant to disaster management, emergency management or other relevant disciplines, and pursue externally funded research where possible.
Collaborate with other Disaster Management program faculty in the delivery of knowledge by creating appropriate lecture presentations and teaching materials.
Adhere to the Academy's information security policies and procedures and report breaches or other security risks accordingly.
Coordinate with other departments to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities, as and when needed.
Act as primary/sole supervisor for student research, taking responsibility for their timely and successful completion.
Coordinate with other departments at the direction of the Program Chair to facilitate the accomplishment of tasks and responsibilities in accordance with role.
Perform any other tasks assigned by Program Chair and top management.
PHD in the relevant field. Relevant Disciplines: Disaster Management, Disaster Science, Fire Services Administration, Fire Safety Engineering, Civil Defence & Emergency Services, Public Health, Health Policy, Fire Safety & Risk Engineering, Business Continuity Management or a closely related disciplines. Teaching & Research Track Record: A minimum of 4-5 years of university-level teaching, curriculum design and applied research in one or more concentration within the Disaster Management program (Civil Defence & Emergency Services, Health Emergency Management, Safety & Risk Engineering, Business Continuity & Organizational Resilience) or similar. Operational or applied experience in disaster management, emergency management, public health or related fields is considered an asset. Professional Credentials: Relevant professional standing, industry certifications, and satisfaction of academic registration requirements for the specific rank being applied.
