Levantine Faience in context: A multidisciplinary study

About the Project

The aim of the project is to study a large corpus of faience (an ancient, glazed ceramic) with the aim of determining production techniques, provenance and use. The project will combine museum skills with archaeological interpretation and a range of established and relatively new analytical techniques. The successful candidate can expect to work both in the UK and at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, with the potential for other visits to laboratories and sites in Europe and the Levant.
