Interested in improving women’s health and care?

Come and join our multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinical and lived experience experts as the research fellow working on our NIHR-funded mixed methods research study to develop, implement and evaluate a new e-learning package for newly qualified midwives.

It involves working on:

  • A systematic review of existing interventions
  • Qualitative interviews with midwives, midwifery students and women
  • Coproduction work to develop an e-learning package
  • Implementation and mixed methods evaluation of the e-learning package in three NHS sites

The post offers an ideal platform for developing post-doctoral experience and building your CV prior to applying for a post-doctorate fellowship. You will join an established team of women’s health academics, clinicians and lived experience experts at the University of Warwick, the Royal College of Midwives, the Masic Foundation, and from NHS trusts across the West Midlands.

The post involves working on a newly funded mixed methods research study to develop and sustain skills, competencies and confidence of newly registered midwives to manage, assess and repair maternal perineal trauma.

About You  

The post is ideally suited to someone who is interested in health-related research. You will have knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methodology with experience in qualitative health research, and patient and public involvement.

If you are near submission or have recently submitted your PhD but have not yet had it conferred, any offers of employment will be made as Research Assistant at the top of level 5 of the University grade structure. Upon receipt of evidence of the successful award of your PhD, you will be promoted to Research Fellow on the first point of level 6 of the University grade structure.

This post is based within the Directorate of Applied Health. Our research includes applied health services research, methodological development and evidence synthesis, and our expertise in quantitative and qualitative methods informs understanding of physical health, mental wellbeing, social care and nursing, and patient and public involvement in research. The University of Warwick has an established and growing portfolio of women’s health research, and this post is one of many exciting opportunities to work in this important area.
