Job Summary
The College of Arts & Sciences seeks a Limited Term Lecturer to teach undergraduate courses in Political Science. This non-tenure track faculty position, based in the Department of Government and Sociology, is a temporary one-year appointment for the 10-month academic year.
Responsibilities
Faculty - Teaching/Instructing
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Full-time instructional load teaching (5 courses) in areas of expertise within the academic discipline.
- Regular course meetings and instruction.
- Mentoring Students.
- Other teaching responsibilities.
Faculty - Professional Development
Limited term faculty are expected to stay current in their field.
Faculty - Service to Institution
All faculty are expected to help the department in recruiting majors. Faculty members are expected to attend Department meetings and events.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
MA Degree or ABD in Political Science
Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1
Other Required Qualifications
- Evidence of methodological innovation and creative teaching strategies is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 18 graduate semester hours related to the discipline.
- Understanding of the principles associated with teaching and learning.
Proposed Salary
Maximum salary $55.000.00.
