Job Summary
The History Program at the University of West Georgia invites applications for two positions at the rank of Limited-term instructor. The successful candidates will teach nine core history courses (U.S. and/or World History) during the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidates will also demonstrate excellence in core-level History teaching and a commitment to student success.
Review of applications will begin on April 20, 2026, and will continue until the positions are filled.
Responsibilities
Teach nine general education history courses during academic year 2026-2027. Participate in History program assessment work. Complete assigned service and pursue goals related to professional growth and development commensurate with this position type.
Required Qualifications
Required Education: Master of Arts in History ; M.A. in a closely related field may also be considered
Required Experience: Demonstrated excellence in teaching core history classes at the college level and a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education: PhD in History; PhD in a closely related field may also be considered.
Preferred Experience: Background teaching both US and World History.
