Job Summary
The Music Program at the University of West Georgia seeks applications from qualified candidates to fill a Limited Term Instructor position beginning August 2026. Well-known in the region and the state for the quality of our wide array of ensemble performances and for the preparation of our graduates to enter the classroom or the studio, the Music Program at UWG offers degree concentrations in Music Education, Music Performance, and Music Composition. The LTI will be responsible for a 5/4 teaching load on a semester calendar, with courses potentially including music core (Music Theory/Aural Skills), Applied Music (depending on applicant’s specialization and program need), small ensemble direction, and instruction in the university core (Music Appreciation/Survey of Jazz, Rock, & Pop). Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Required Qualifications
MM or MA in Music
Preferred Qualifications
DMA/PhD/EdD in Music (or ABD)
Prior successful teaching experience in online and in person learning environments
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Proposed Salary
Salary is commensurate with experience.
