We’re looking for an enthusiastic and experienced literacy skills and Maths Tutor to support learners in our Foundation and Pathways programmes. This is a part-time, fixed-term opportunity through to the end of 2026, based on campus in Christchurch.
Whether you’re a versatile tutor across both subjects or a specialist in either Literacy skills or Maths, we’d love to hear from you.
Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the Role
You’ll deliver engaging, learner-centred teaching across literacy and numeracy programmes, supporting ākonga to build confidence and achieve their goals.
You’ll work collaboratively with a passionate team to:
- Deliver high-quality teaching in literacy skills and Maths courses (mainly level 3 and 4)
- Create inclusive, supportive learning environments
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learner needs
- Provide meaningful feedback and support student progress
- Contribute to programme development and learner success
Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako – Skills and Experience
We’re keen to connect with experienced teachers, trainers, tutors or kaiako who bring:
- Experience teaching adult learners in literacy skills, Maths, or study skills
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging diverse groups
- A learner-first mindset and passion for improving outcomes
- The ability to use flexible, innovative teaching approaches
- A relevant tertiary qualification (teaching qualification a bonus!)
