Overview
About the programme
The Department of Literature's continual research in literary studies at Uppsala University is characterized by a wide field. Perspectives from gender studies and literary sociology are prominent, as well as the historical study of 1700- and 1800s literary culture, but also empirical reading research, digital humanities, text analysis, media history and eco-critique are important fields for our research.
Within the framework of the department's research groups, literary scholars and rhetoricians collaborate, and the Department of the Sociology of Literature is a hub for the department's literary sociology researchers.
