Supervise programming ensuring all security protocols are operational. Train other technicians and operators, provide work direction, and oversee compliance with preventative maintenance schedules. Closely adhere to industry and university best practices and safety requirements. Locksmith Access Technician IV Lead the design, engineering, and management of campus-wide advanced master key systems and software. Work with Facilities Management, Campus Planning, Construction Management, Public Safety, Industry Partners and other departments to design and implement comprehensive master key systems meeting University and U.L. standards. Use advanced test equipment to analyze system performance and recommend improvements. Act as project leader, train technicians, provide technical guidance, and oversee daily operation and preventative maintenance schedules for all systems. Closely adhere to industry and university best practices and safety requirements. Minimum Qualifications Two years full-time general locksmithing experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); ability to understand the basic requirements of master keying systems; and ability to develop appropriate key codes to fit existing master key systems required. Experience with manual and computerized key record and filing systems; and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Dependent upon department of assignment, a valid Utah driver's license may be required. Graduation from an approved locksmithing school is preferred. This position has no responsibility for providing care to patients.
