Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mātanga Hangarau - Technical Specialist to join the Systems team in Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, build, configuration, and implementation of technical solutions.
  • Integrate and support enterprise platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Provide second and third-level technical support and resolve incidents within service levels.
  • Improve reliability and efficiency through documentation, automation, and Agile delivery.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be an experienced technical specialist with strong systems administration capability, sound judgement, and a collaborative approach. You will bring proven experience across enterprise platforms and support the delivery of secure, reliable, and well-managed services that meet the University’s needs.

You will have:

  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 products in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience implementing and supporting on-premises and hybrid systems, including Windows Server and identity services.
  • Practical skills in PowerShell, automation, and DevOps CI/CD practices that improve operational outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound technical recommendations.
  • The ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a complex environment.
  • A broad vision across digital systems, integrations, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
