Job Summary

maintaining a safe, functional, and attractive campus environment.
The 2
nd shift Maintenance Repairman 2 performs skilled
journey-level work across multiple building, mechanical,
electrical, and maintenance trades. This position is responsible
for independently diagnosing, repairing, installing, and
maintaining building systems, equipment, and campus infrastructure
while supporting the University's educational mission.
The successful candidate will apply expertise in multiple trades to
complete a variety of maintenance projects, preventive maintenance
activities, and facility repairs, and may provide lead work
direction to lower-level maintenance staff. Work involves
proficiency in several trades, including but not limited to
mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, locksmith, and general
building trades. Work assignments are made both orally and through
assignment of work orders in a CMMS program.
This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse assignments
throughout campus while ensuring the reliability, safety, and
operational effectiveness of Kutztown University facilities.

As a member of the Facilities team, this position is designated
as essential personnel. Essential employees may be required to
remain at or report to work during partial or full-day University
closings, including closings due to hazardous road conditions,
emergency circumstances, or other operational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1
OR
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work
which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or
mechanical trades.
OR
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that
affords the applicant with the required knowledge, skills, and
abilities.
- A valid PA driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior work experience in the maintenance and repair field in a
higher education environment or a facility setting.
- Prior experience working for HVAC or Plumbing contractor
- Prior work experience in the maintenance and repair of
refrigeration equipment
- Prior experience utilizing handheld devices to receive and
document work orders through a work order management system

The starting salary for this position is $41,506.00, based on
the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement.
