Maintenance Tech I

Position Summary: The Maintenance Tech I performs basic upkeep, minor repairs and maintenance of all facilities and equipment. Must be able to support and promote the University's Mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Unclog toilets, sinks and tubs
• Change light bulbs
• Repair windows, screens and window coverings
• Maintain and repair ceiling tile and framework
• Repair flooring, and repair and replace drywall and paint area
• Repair furniture; move furniture
• Investigate appliance problems
• Rotate dumpsters, empty trash containers and make sure grounds of free of trash & debris.
• Assist other craftsmen as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor
• Serve on summer-project teams as assigned
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Assist Grounds with shoveling snow in emergency situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope and responsibility and requirements of the job

Required Qualifications: Education: A high school diploma/GED. Must have previous employment in a related field or trade mentioned above in the Position Summary. Must have valid PA drivers license.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous employment in a Higher Education setting is preferred but not required.
