Job Purpose:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of facility machinery and equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and efficient repair. This role supports production by inspecting, servicing, and modifying machines as needed, maintaining organized work areas, and collaborating with supervisors and engineering staff to keep equipment functioning safely and effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines including inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
• Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
• Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
• Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
• Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.
• Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
• Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
• Prepares reports documenting work performed.
• Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Collaborates with product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
• Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- <p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p><p>• Unassisted physical mobility around a plant is required.</p><p>• Able to work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions.</p><p>• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.</p><p>• Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly.</p><p>• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.</p><p>• Frequent bending and stooping are required.</p><p>• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.</p><p>• Must possess manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard maintenance and engineering tools and equipment.</p><p>• Must have the ability to perform tasks that require good visual and auditory acuity to detect potential safety hazards and maintain operational standards.</p><p>• Must be able to wear required PPE, such as safety glasses, hard hats, gloves, and hearing protection, as needed.</p><p><strong>Education and/or Certification Requirements:</strong></p><p>• Technical certificate preferred or enrolled or agree to enroll in a continuing education program with a commitment to receive a technical certificate in 18 months.</p><p>• At least two years of maintenance experience required.</p><p><strong>Skills/Qualifications:</strong></p><p>• Basic knowledge in pneumatic systems and circuitry, hydraulic systems and electrical circuitry and able to troubleshoot issues</p><p>• Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.</p><p>• Basic fabrication skills (welding, cutting, fitting)</p><p>• Works well independently and with others.</p><p>• Good communication skills.</p><p>• Organized with attention to detail.</p>
