We are looking for a practical and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our friendly Maintenance team at St Antony’s College.
This is a full-time role (35 hours per week, worked over five days out of seven) with a salary of £26,707–£30,378 per year, plus an Oxford weighting allowance of £1,730.
About the role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will carry out a wide range of general maintenance tasks across the College estate. The role is hands-on and varied, combining planned work with reactive repairs. You will work independently on some tasks and alongside colleagues or contractors on others.
Key duties include:
- General building maintenance, repairs and renewals
- Internal and external decorating, carpentry and minor glazing
- Basic plumbing tasks (e.g. unblocking WCs, tap repairs)
- Minor groundworks and cleaning gutters and drains
- Responding to maintenance requests via an online reporting system
- Inspecting plant rooms and equipment
- Supporting statutory testing programmes
- Working safely at height, in confined spaces and outdoors
About you
You will have experience in a similar maintenance role and be comfortable working as part of a small team. You’ll have a good understanding of health and safety practices, confidence using IT systems, strong organisational skills and a flexible, customer-focused approach.
An interest in sustainable maintenance practices is welcomed.
