The Centre for Employability
The Centre for Employability (CFE) provides University-wide leadership in enhancing graduate employment outcomes through strong partnerships with Schools, Service Centres and external industry stakeholders. The CFE oversees the delivery and continuous improvement of careers and employability programs, centrally coordinated work-based WIL (internships), employability curriculum support, a diverse portfolio of employability initiatives, and the University’s short course services.
The Centre also leads the implementation and integration of key employability technologies and external partnerships, ensuring all ECU students benefit from meaningful employability development and uplift throughout their studies.
About the Opportunity
In this pivotal leadership role, you will guide a high-performing team to deliver exceptional careers and employability support for undergraduate and postgraduate students across all ECU disciplines. You will champion best-practice career development learning, ensure our services remain responsive to evolving student needs, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Success in this role relies on the following selection criteria;
- Strong collaboration, communication and negotiation skills
- Active participant in national bodies focused on student success and graduate employment
- Demonstrated experience in developing programs/services that support and engage students through curricular and co-curricular activities
- Demonstrated experience in analysing data and reviewing best practice in higher education to develop, implement and evaluate programs aimed at supporting and transitioning students throughout their studies and maximising graduate employment outcomes
- Recent evidence of innovative approaches to evaluation of impact, service evolution, reporting and continuous quality improvement
- Experience in managing and developing a diverse, multi-disciplinary team including careers advisers, careers officers and administrative support
- Exceptional organisational, data analysis and strategic planning skills
