Job Description
The Manager, Community Services is responsible for developing, coordinating, and leading community-based initiatives that strengthen relationships with individuals, families, and organizations across the region. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality programs and services that align with the institution’s mission of access, engagement, and service. The Manager serves as a key connector between the institution and the community, fostering partnerships that increase awareness, expand program participation, and support long-term growth.
This position is funded by a grant or restricted funds. Continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant or restricted funding.
This position may pay more than the salary listed above depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness of programs and services.
- Represent the institution at community events, meetings, and forums.
- Coordinate initiatives that introduce potential participants to programs and resources.
- Develop presentations, workshops, and informational materials to promote services.
- Manage planning, delivery, and evaluation of community service programs.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and external partners to align programming with community needs.
- Track participation, measure outcomes, and recommend program improvements.
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools, nonprofits, government agencies, and local organizations.
- Serve as liaison between stakeholders and the institution.
- Develop collaborative projects to expand reach and impact.
- Supervise staff, interns, or volunteers as assigned.
- Manage budgets, reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to departmental planning and goal-setting.
- Stay current with best practices in community engagement and outreach.
- Participate in institutional committees, trainings, and initiatives.
- Support the overall mission of the department and institution.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree. Five years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Other Requirements:
Position may require additional travel and percentage of time may vary.
