Manager (Development)
Job Purpose
The Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) is a policy think-tank at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. The Institute analyses public policy; builds bridges between thought leaders; communicates its findings to a wide audience; and provides a platform for mature, open, and incisive discussion on Singapore’s challenges, options, and direction.
IPS is looking to appoint a Manager to help manage its Development team, whose primary responsibility is to build strong bonds and networks with existing and prospective donors, with a view to raising funds for the Institute and its projects. S/he will contribute to identifying opportunities; developing and executing campaigns; and managing the day-to-day functions of the team. Job Description
- Work closely with Associate Director (Fundraising and Donor Relations) in increasing support from donors; routinely identify and qualify prospective donors for donations.
- Support fundraising through select special projects/ initiatives and solicit gifts from major donors as appropriate.
- Donor/ prospect research and fundraising pipeline building.
- Establish and conduct a comprehensive review of donors/ prospect and support efforts to forge new relationships to build visibility, impact and financial resources.
- Oversight of the donors “thank you” process with the preparation of stewardship and endowment reports, consultation on donors recognition opportunities.
- Manage communication/ correspondence to donors. Prepare all donor(s)’ stewardship reports to those providing endowed funds or whose gifts are for specific purposes that require outcome reports.
- Facilitate the management and executive of donor events (e.g. donors recognition receptions, luncheons, dinners, dedication ceremonies). This may require coordination of invitations, speakers, food/ drink, guest lists, etc. with internal and external parties.
- Manage donor/ prospect records and database.
Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor’s degree.
- Fundraising experience in a non-profit organisation or education institute is preferred.
- Exceptional research skills required to thoroughly identify, assess, and engage potential prospects and donors.
- Meticulous attention to detail, good customer service, interpersonal and communications skills.
- Strong administrative and logistical skills.
- Be a good team player and a reliable worker.
- Excellent command of English and capacity to write clearly.
- Experience with organisation and project management skills.
- Good knowledge of MS office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
