Job Description

“NUS Global” (or GRO) is the international engagement arm of the National University of Singapore (NUS). It has a dual mandate. Broadly, GRO oversees and administers mobility programmes that provide NUS students learning experiences abroad. Such programmes enhance students’ cultural competencies and personal development to help prepare them for life and work across international and cultural boundaries. GRO is also responsible for building collaborative relationships with overseas counterparts through bilateral engagements, alliances, networks and other channels to create value for our stakeholders in line with NUS’ aspiration to be a global university.

To support our mandate, GRO is looking to hire suitable candidates to oversee and manage NUS’s international partnerships. The role is central to advancing the University’s global strategy and mobility objectives. Successful candidates will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that partnerships are purpose-driven, mutually beneficial and aligned with NUS’ priorities, student mobility needs and broader institutional goals as a global university.

We are looking for driven, resourceful, astute, flexible, independent individuals to join our team. You will have the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the management and development of NUS’ global partnerships and impact NUS students’ university experience. The role/s may be adapted to the right candidate/s’ strengths.

This includes working closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop visit programmes, facilitate meetings and official engagements, and ensure timely and effective follow-up.
  • Document NUS’ engagements with partner institutions and global entities, and to support institutional knowledge management and continuity, and prepare reports, where required, to keep senior management informed of these engagements.
  • Support research and analysis on global markets, universities and international higher education trends when required to identify opportunities for partnerships and collaboration, with a focus on institutions in South Asia, Central Asia, Middle East/Africa and Americas.
  • Monitor global and regional developments related to international engagement and mobility, identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities, and inform strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Support NUS’s representations at relevant events engagements in Singapore and overseas to advance the University’s global presence, partnerships, branding and strategic initiatives.

  • Strong communication skills, with an excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and with diverse stakeholders.
  • A keen interest in global developments and international trends, particularly in the higher education landscape.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good time-management and organisational abilities.
  • A proactive, resourceful and adaptable team player who is comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Prior experience in global engagement or international work would be an advantage, but is not essential.
