This Supervisory/Technical position will direct the Health and Human Services initiatives, programming, training scenarios, and scheduling as it pertains to the Human Patient Simulator Laboratory for students, faculty, and the community partners. In addition, they will act as the primary faculty liaison and assistant in the configuring/programming of faculty-specified clinical scenarios utilizing the Simulation Equipment. The Manager will be responsible for all Accreditation activities for the Human Patient Simulation Laboratory.
- Lead and sustain Accreditation for the Human Patient Simulator Laboratory
- Work collaboratively with community partners and campus administrator to meet Human Patient Simulation Training needs
- Responsible for creating and leading all market initiatives for the Human Patient Simulator Laboratory including creation of the College's Public Website
- Train and orient full-time and adjunct faculty in the use of the Human Patient Simulator adult and pediatric models
- Lead the development of the simulation use in HPS area including yearly maintenance and any upgrades to software and hardware and maintain manufacturer documentation
- Communicates and collaborates with all faculty in HPS division regarding curriculum, in all levels of students learning and in varied courses.
- Maintain organized scheduling system for users of the simulation lab
- Responsible for staging and running the simulations for faculty or any user
- Provide feedback and recommendations to lead faculty based on simulation student experiences in each subject area regarding course outcomes that need reevaluation to meet assessment needs and accreditation standards
- Provides feedback to faculty in all HPS areas of evaluation of HPS success recommending improvements/enhancements for students learning experiences by altering/updating the labs as well as updates within the case studies
- Provide leadership and organization to establish interprofessional events on campus and coordinate use of the HPS by community partners
- Provide leadership and organization to foster interprofessional student experiences on an ongoing basis.
- Lead planning and evaluation of remediation processes in collaboration with program specific faculty or administrator.
- Maintain documentation and reports of all clinical scenarios developed and used for appropriate reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop protocols to facilitate both faculty and student use of the HPS laboratory for orientation, practice, and remediation.
- Research, review and make recommendations regarding HPS use in the HHS curriculum/programs.
- Lead the development of integrated use of audiovisual instructional materialsand software in collaboration with Instructional Technology.
- Assist in the housekeeping, maintenance and security of the HPS lab including supplies and equipment.
- Travel to community events for educational and promotional purposes
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Supervisor for Health and Human Services for repair of lab equipment and ordering of supplies
- Attend regional and national users group meetings as assigned
- Attend department and college meetings as assigned
- Maintains schedule of Human Patient Simulator Lab E207
- Perform related duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in the Health Science field is Required; Master of Science in the Health Science field is preferred.
