Manager, MHS-AA Program Operations
Kansas City University is seeking a qualified Program Manager who will play an important role in supporting the new Master of Health Science in Anesthesiologist Assistant Program at the campus in Joplin, Missouri. This clinical master's degree program, spanning 28 months, aims to produce Anesthesiologist Assistants - highly-skilled medical professionals who work within the Anesthesia Care Team and provide anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical procedures. Under supervision of the Program Director, this key role will provide managerial and administrative leadership for daily operations ensuring that the Program fulfills its mission, goals, and objectives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Anesthesiologist Assistant Program team and KCU professional staff to support program operations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
- Act as the liaison between the program and key university departments, including Admissions, Recruiting, Registrar, Bursar, Events Management, Student Services, Human Resources, Committee Chairs, Facilities, and Security.
- Manage external relationships with professional organizations, philanthropic groups, clinical and hospital affiliates, clinical preceptors, accrediting bodies, and the general public.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of accreditation site visits, including initial accreditation and annual compliance reviews.
- Support the Program Director in ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and accreditation standards set by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs (CAAHEP) and KCU.
- Organize and facilitate meetings, including preparing agendas, attending meetings, and documenting minutes for faculty, staff, and committees.
- Collect, maintain, and report student-related data, including attendance, clinical hours, case logs, rotation assignments, grades, and performance evaluations.
- Occasional travel required.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, health care administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations, higher education, an academic medical setting, or office management preferred or Masters degree in education, instructional design or similar
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel with experience in Qualtrics preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook), and Canvas or Blackboard
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality
