Salary: $1,000 per credit*
Classification: Adjunct Faculty
Reports to: Dean of Business & Technology
Olympic College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach classes in a new Marine Electrical Program. Classes will be offered face-to-face in the evening, and may expand to other times and delivery modes in the future. The 34-credit program leads to a Certificate of Completion. Working closely with local employers, most students will be Marine Electrical Apprentices. Courses will include Introduction to Marine Careers, Blueprint Reading, Introduction to Shop Systems, Direct Current, Alternating Current, Micro-Controllers, Marine Electronics for Maritime Vessels, and Electric Motor Control.
Essential Functions
- Teach Marine Electrical course(s)
- Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading.
- Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the division office as requested.
- Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required.
- This is considered to be a hybrid position.
- Perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.
- There may be an opportunity for adjunct faculty to help coordinate the program and work with local employers.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree from an accredited college or equivalent industry experience
- Subject expert in Marine Electrical
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience
- Experience with apprentice programs
- Curriculum development experience
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
