About the Role
Reporting to the Strategic Insights Lead, the Market Insights Analyst plays a key role in delivering high-quality reporting, analysis and insights to inform evidence-based decision-making across Future Students and Marketing.
With a primary focus on the Australian education sector, the role develops, maintains, and enhances reporting and analytics products, including dashboards and recurring performance reports. It ensures data is accurate, well-governed and presented in a clear, consistent, and actionable format to support a range of stakeholders.
Working collaboratively with teams across Future Students and Marketing, as well as other University partners, the Market Insights Analyst translates business questions relating to market trends and the student recruitment pipeline into analytical requirements. The role is responsible for sourcing, preparing, and analysing data, and providing meaningful insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational objectives.
The position also contributes to the continuous improvement of reporting processes, documentation, and data governance practices, helping to strengthen self-service analytics capability while ensuring compliance with privacy, information management, and data governance requirements.
This is a full-time, ongoing position based at our Hawthorn campus.
About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality data analysis, reporting and insights within a complex, customer-focused environment, supporting informed decision-making and business outcomes.
- Proven ability to analyse large and complex datasets and translate findings into meaningful reports, insights and recommendations. Experience applying statistical and analytical techniques such as regression analysis, trend forecasting and predictive modelling is highly desirable. Experience with Databricks is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing interactive dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI. Proficiency in SQL and Python is highly regarded.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information and insights to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also exercising initiative and working independently to achieve objectives.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and related data management and reporting tools.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and deliver quality outcomes within required timeframes.
- Knowledge of the Australian higher education sector, including familiarity with student, labour market and regulatory datasets and frameworks such as VTAC, HESC, QILT, TEQSA and ABS, is highly desirable.
