Nature & Purpose of Position:
The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking a creative, dependable, and detailed oriented individual to fill the roll of Marketing Student Assistant with an emphasis on social media content creation.
Other duties include (and not limited to) designing content for college promotional materials, attending college events, assisting with setup/take down of events, and a range of clerical tasks to assist with the department's daily operations. Must be able to maintain confidentiality, have good interpersonal skills, and have the ability to communicate effectively, both visually and in writing.
The Marketing Student Assistant requires the ability to create digital media and graphic materials from concept of implementation and follow the SHSU identity standards.
Other Requirements for the Position:
Skills in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, CANVA or photography preferred. Familiarity with social media outlets is a must. Work hours are flexible within the standard Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm schedule, but may include evening or weekend events.
The continuation of the position is contingent on work performance in the Fall 2026 semester.
