Do you like traveling and meeting new people? Would you like to improve your English and intercultural skills? Would you like to prepare for your own study abroad experience by assisting the students arriving to Brno? If so, apply to be a Summer School Assistant!

We are a university with ten faculties, more than 200 departments, institutes and clinics working in a range of natural sciences and humanities academic disciplines and research areas. The Centre for International Cooperation (CZS MU) coordinates the activities of Masaryk University in the field of international cooperation, administers international exchange visits of students, teachers, researchers and other staff.

The Short-Term and Innovative Programmes Unit manages over 20 different summer and winter schools, two in January and the rest we organize within May-July.

Assistants coordinate social and cultural activities in Brno, and travel with the schools to Prague, Budapest or Vienna. In the summer trips will also go to Krakow, Telč, and other places in the Czech Republic. In addition to the fun travel opportunities, assistants also provide emergency assistance to students (mostly translation services), help in the program preparation, organize and plan activities in Brno, and assist in other activities as needed.

What do we offer?

  • Travel to foreign cities, and show off the city where you live
  • Flexible working hours and workload to be discussed individually

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Organizing social and cultural activities for students (in afternoons and evenings) in Brno and on weekend excursions
  • Representing the university on excursions and leading the group of students
  • Providing translation support at governmental offices, doctors, etc. as needed
  • Other support as needed.

What's our idea of a suitable candidate?

  • Availability 18th May – 1st August (flexibility around exam schedule is possible)
  • English: proficient and comfortable speaking in English for extended periods
  • Czech: native or C1 level
  • Organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Brno
  • Advantage: familiarity with Masaryk University environment
