The Temporary World Language Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging instruction, fostering student growth, maintaining continuity of the curriculum, and collaborating with colleagues to support student success.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Teach world language courses assigned by the school administration.
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with course objectives and the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
- Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and student records.
- Collaborate with faculty, counselors, and administrators to support student success.
- Create an inclusive and respectful classroom environment that promotes academic excellence and student well-being.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and school personnel as needed.
- Participate in department, faculty, and team meetings as appropriate.
- Follow all school and WPI policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor's degree in World Language, Education, or a related field.
- Massachusetts teaching license in the applicable world language area, or eligibility for licensure.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with highly motivated and academically talented students.
Preferred
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience teaching high school students.
- Experience working in a rigorous academic environment.
- Proficiency with instructional technology and learning management systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform the essential functions of classroom instruction.
- Ability to move throughout a school environment and use standard educational technology.
Terms of Employment
- Temporary appointment.
- Schedule and duration determined by school needs.
