Your tasks:
- Research collaboration: Study of a developmental stage of Hieratic script during the first half of the 2nd millennium BC, the Third Intermediate Period or the Greco-Roman era (one of these modules to be selected in consultation), specifically:
- Research into a suitable corpus of sources
- International correspondence with museums
- Digital facsimile production and annotation of cursive signs
- Data management and analysis
- Contribution to project-related publications, workshops and conferences
- Contribution to teaching, as well as advising and supervising students
Requirements
Your profile:
- A successfully completed academic degree (at least a Master’s or equivalent) in Egyptology, preferably with a focus on philology
- In-depth knowledge of Hieratic, ideally relating to one of the specified periods of writing
- Skills in using academic databases
- Very good command of German and English (at least B2 level)
- Willingness to familiarise yourself with digital methods
- A high degree of personal responsibility, as well as strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills
In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate.
