Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mata Ahupae - School Administrator to join Te Kura Mahinga Tangata - School of Social and Cultural Studies on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key responsibilities:

Provide coordination and administration support for the School’s postgraduate students.
Proactively enhance pastoral care for our postgraduate community.
Provide course administration and general administrative support for the academics and students of one of the programmes.
Contribute to teamwork within the professional team to contribute to the School administrative systems and to cover periods of leave as required.
Assist with finance and HR activities within the School to support the Pou Hautū - School Manager.

Ō pūmanawa - About you

You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent administration, policy compliance, and pastoral care. You will demonstrate strong attention to detail and self-management skills. You will have excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing as you will deal with a wide range of stakeholders. This role is busy, varied, extremely rewarding and interesting for the individual with the right temperament.

Key requirements:

Proven experience and excellence in customer service and office administration.
A tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience working in the tertiary sector.
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, and Teams.
Proven ability to work to a very high standard of accuracy even under pressure.
Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and to learn new skills and systems quickly.
Proven ability to work as part of a team as well as having individual responsibilities.
Excellent cross-cultural communication skills with a wide range of people using a variety of communication methods.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to work to deadlines.
