Mathematics Program
The Mathematics program is a broad-based and application-driven program. Students are educated on the foundations of mathematics, preparing them for a wide-array of opportunities. Faculty focus on developing both the necessary mathematical tools and the critical-thinking and problem-solving skills applicable to students’ future careers, including fields in education, cryptography, computer science, engineering, business, actuarial science, and statistics. While doing so, faculty strive to ground the students in a Christian worldview, where they come to appreciate both the beauty of God’s truth and the mathematical nature of His creation. In addition, the mathematics department offers courses that fulfill the Mathematics component of the University’s Core Curriculum.
