The Departments of English and Film, Television and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame invite applications for the McMeel Family Chair in Shakespeare Studies. We seek a widely recognized leader in the field with a distinguished record of research and publication and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Duties will include teaching, research, and service.
The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of full professor with tenure with a start date in August 2027. A Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in English or Film, Television, and Theatre or a related field is required. Must be a tenured faculty member (or equivalent international rank) at current institution. Review of applications will begin November 1 and continue until the search is closed.
The committee will conduct initial interviews via Zoom. Finalists will be invited to campus for interviews. Informal inquiries and nominations should be directed to Prof. Jesse Lander at jlander@nd.edu.
