Department Information

The Campus Engineering team exists to provide support to all aspects of design, construction, operation, and maintenance of campus facilities.

Job Summary

Plan and execute the operation, maintenance, repair, replacement, and location of Mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water, steam, sewers and associated components. Develop a long-term Mechanical replacement plan and an annual execution plan. Define Mechanical training needs and deliver training.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support and assist the Utilities and Power Plant Superintendents in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Mechanical Utility generating and distribution equipment, building Mechanical systems, and utility locating.
• Develop and manage replacement and repair projects for mechanical components and systems with in-house and contract services.
• Maintain a campus 1-year equipment replacement plan. Develop the annual MRR execution plan.
• Assist area managers to solve issues involving Mechanical systems.
• Define training needs and provide or coordinate training services.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience: Six to eight years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications: Fundamentals Examine (FE) or Engineer-in-training (EIT) certified, Georgia Professional Engineering License or LEED Certification

Preferred Educational Qualifications: Master's Degree in related field
