Job Description

The Mechanical Engineering faculty member is responsible for promoting the professional and academic development of undergraduate engineering students through excellence in teaching, engaging labs, creative achievement, advising, and a commitment to service

Required Qualifications

• Masters degree in mechanical engineering with industry experience
• outstanding soft skills; and
• experience advising students

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in mechanical engineering; and
• evidence of effective teaching, advising, and student engagement

Job Duties

• Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to prospective students, faculty, staff, current students and to the community at large
• strongly commit to undergraduate teaching excellence and student engagement
• promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students
• undertake the Standard Instructional/Research/Service Workload as outlined in theFaculty/Staff Policy Manual
• provide academic advisement of students
• conduct office/conference hours
• fulfill the University's scholarship expectation through research, publication, grantdevelopment, and creative achievement
• participate on university committees and public service opportunities
• maintain proper security for all University files and information and follow privacy procedures at all times
• maintain records and procedures for duties and responsibilities of position
• assist in the development, data collection, and analysis of required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports necessary for the advancement of University program
• eagerly participate in student engagement and organization activities
• meet with prospective students
• provide course and classroom conduct as outlined in the Faculty/Staff Policy Manual
• attend department, school, and university faculty meetings
• attend commencement activities
• participate in annual faculty evaluation
• submit textbook requests
• comply with the university Faculty/Staff Policy Manual
• perform other duties as assigned
