General requirements
- Master's degree in engineering or a related field from a recognized institution. A student with outstanding scholastic achievement who holds only a baccalaureate degree may be admitted directly to the Ph.D. program.
- A GPA of 3.0 or better in the last 60 credits of work attempted
- GRE is required; there are no minimum sub-score requirements
- Three (3) letters of recommendation
- A general evaluation of international transcripts is required; FAU will do the evaluation or it must be done by a NACES member
