Job Details

Hampden-Sydney College is accepting applications for a Media Relations Manager. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing, the Media Relations Manager supports the mission of the College by developing and maintaining relationships with local, regional, and national media, pitching stories to the press, assisting with social media strategy and execution, and developing stories of interest to internal constituents and to the public at large.

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a similar field, with at least 3 years of professional experience in media relations, public relations, or journalism are required. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Extensive knowledge of AP style required.
Photo journalist/social media coverage experience preferred.
