Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily review, accuracy, and oversight of patient billing and medical data.
- Ensuring compliance with coding standards.
- Originates, receives, prepares, and/or approves vouchers, forms, letters, papers, schedules, reports and other documents.
- Prepares data requests for faculty and resident research as well as for financial analysis.
- Resolves inconsistencies and errors with appropriate persons.
- Handles cash, check, or other forms of payments or collections.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic word processing software and the ability to operate standard PC/PC software applications.
- Comprehensive knowledge of student health insurance plans, billing, and maintaining compliance.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
- Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in administrative support services in a hospital or clinic setting.
